About this course: If you are new to sailing, or just want to upgrade or refresh your knowledge and skills, this course is for you!
About the Presenter: Gillie is a fully-certified Sail Canada Basic & Intermediate Instructor, operating her own sailing school ‘LadySail’ in Gibsons (2010-2019).
The ‘’Basic Cruising Standard” is for beginners and novice sailors covering the basic & safe principles of sailing. This course is for everyone, but with a focus on women in sailing! Gillie will teach Sail Canada’s ‘Basic Cruising Standard’ following the manual written by Gillian West, whose book “Basic Cruising Skills” has long been required reading. If you would like to do some reading before the course (not required) this book can be purchased online as an e-book though Sail Canada or paperback through online distributors. Note: This is not a Sail Canada certified course.

About this Course: If you are interested in international chartering or just learning about sailing in Croatia for a future vacation, this presentation is for you!
About the Presenter: Gillie ran her own sailing school – LADYSAIL – out of Gibsons from 2010-2019. She has been an international skipper since 2011, joining flotillas in New Zealand, Croatia in 2011, 2012 & 2014, and Greece in 2015. She has also skippered in local waters, organizing a charter to Desolation Sound with ‘Dreamspeaker Guide’ authors Anne & Laurence Yeadon-Jones in 2013 out of Cooper Boating in Powell River; as well as taking her own Catalina 36 to the San Juan Islands with guests including her mentor Gillian West, Senior I.E., circumnavigator and author of the Cruising Standard and Coastal Navigation teaching manuals. After ten years, she closed LADYSAIL, sold her boat and worked for Nanaimo Yacht Charters for two years, instructing and skippering clients throughout the Gulf Islands and Howe Sound, BC.
