Self-Governed New Year’s Cruise
December 31, 2024 @ 3:00 pm - January 1, 2025 @ 11:00 am
This is the night when people can organize their own cruise overnight to Montague Harbour to celebrate New Year’s Eve and make unforgettable memories. It hasn’t happened for a few years, but read on for this year’s plans:
This year a group is restarting the tradition of SISC boats spending New Year’s Eve at Montague Harbour…weather permitting. In the past boats have either tied up at the dock, if there is space, or moored or anchored out with some boats rafting up. People generally go for a walk/hike in the afternoon and then get together for libation and pot luck appies/dinner, after which we go ashore to celebrate the new year (usually earlier than midnight) with a fire at one of the campsites. In the morning we head back to the club for the New Year’s luncheon and to watch or participate in the club race.
If you feel like joining in this year, dress warmly and bring easy food to share, libations, sparklers, noisemakers and good humour! Hope to see you there. Questions? communications@saltspringsailing.ca

Happy New Year to all Club members and all the best for 2025!
