Racing Regatta on the Dock
September 4 @ 4:30 pm - 8:00 pm
The Regatta-to-end-all-Regattas, the Championship of Championships. Assemble at the dock for the usual skippers 4:30 pm meeting time, bring appetizers to share and prepare to have more fun than you can stand. Old farts in small boats, stadium-style racing right off our docks, cheering crowds enjoying adult beverages, an Optimist regatta for adults and bragging rights to be won. From the Fleet Capt Racing: one more, and last for 2024, night of Wednesday night racing. With a slightly different format.
It will be in a fleet of 6 race-matched International Optimist Prams, specially optimized for adult racing over a stadium micro-course with a mark off each end of F dock, in an overly complicated round robin format to accommodate however many participants show up to test their luck and skill.
Mystery prizes awarded based on secret criteria.
All are welcome to participate or to simply witness the awesome spectacle.
Potluck food and drink.
Skipper’s meeting at 4:30–first start soon thereafter.
