About the Talk: Anchoring on the Canadian west coast can be a somewhat daunting experience with a steep learning curve. This presentation will provide the skills to needed to minimize the stress for new comers and experienced sailors alike. Stern tying is pretty much necessary to fit into many small anchorages up and down the coast. But it can be intimidating to do until you get the hang of it. Not to worry, this presentation will provide some handy tips to make it less stressful.
About the Speakers:
John Lugsdin came to the west coast in 2008 and acquired a Sceptre 43 and has been cruising locally, up the near and mid coasts, around Vancouver Is and through the Haida Gwaii Islands and down the coast to Mexico.
Greg Slakov and Holly bought their first boat, a Hobie Cat, in 1981. Since then, they have bought or built about 12 boats, almost all sail powered. Their cruising has been confined to the east coast of Vancouver Island, with the notable exceptions of a 1989 delivery of a schooner from the Virgin Islands to Vancouver, and a 1992 circumnavigation of Vancouver Island.
