It is acknowledged that we have some remarkable people in the Sailing Club and sometimes they show up in unusual places all over the world. New member Jill Oakes is like that. She bought herself a Flying Fifteen in September of last year, as a neophyte sailor, and has begun a journey of discovery connecting with other Flying Fifteen aficionados. Earlier in 2024, Jill went to New Zealand, cycled her way alone down to the New Zealand Flying Fifteen National Championships, and sailed with the best.
